CAREC Business Forum
CAREC Business Forum on 18–19 November in Bishkek, brought together more than 150 people including government officials, private sector leaders, investors, development partners, and experts. On 18 November, VP Yingming reiterated ADB’s commitment to meaningful engagement with the private sector, particularly small and medium enterprises, including mobilizing private sector financing to pursue CAREC objectives and encouraged participants to come up with actionable ideas that are commercially led, cross-border by design, and immediately implementable. The Kyrgyz Minister of Economy and Commerce Mr. Bakyt Sydykov underscored the need for regional cooperation for advancing regulatory reforms and infrastructure development. Lyaziza Sabyrova moderated the session on exploring economic potential of CAREC corridors.
Held, after a hiatus of 15 years, the forum focused on unlocking public–private partnerships and investment opportunities to advance regional projects anchored in digital transformation and climate resilience. The sessions also explored innovative financing models, and the role of digital solutions and green technologies in driving sustainable growth. The event reaffirmed CAREC’s role as a platform for inclusive regional cooperation, fostering B2B and B2G collaboration, including the signing of four private-sector partnerships in logistics, e-commerce, and tourism sectors.
