CAREC National Focal Points' Meeting 2025
Chaired by the Kyrgyz Republic’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Mr. Sultan Akhmatov, the National Focal Points of the CAREC Program met virtually on 15 October to prepare for the upcoming 24th CAREC Ministerial Conference, the CAREC Business Forum and related events in November 2025 in Bishkek. The meeting focused on key documents for Ministerial endorsement such as the midterm reviews of the transport, trade, and digital strategies and documents promoting health and climate nexus. The meeting also discussed the documents for signing and key initiatives under the Implementation Action Plan of the CAREC 2030 Strategy Midterm Review. CWRC Regional Head Lyaziza Sabyrova also briefed the meeting on the proposals for commemorating the CAREC Program’s 25th year in 2026. CWRD DDG Yong Ye co-chaired the meeting. EARD Advisor Bobur Alimov reiterated ADB’s commitment to regional cooperation in his closing remarks.
