CAREC Federation of Carrier and Forwarder Associations Capacity Building Seminar

Held back to back with the Business Networking Forum, the CFCFA Capacity Building Seminar was attended by participants from the Forum. The seminar focused on

• supply chain and multimodal transport issues, and
• application of FIATA standard freight forwarding documents for the CAREC region.

The first subject was on multimodal transport. It compared existing conditions of supply chain and multimodal transport in CAREC countries against international best practices, and pointed out many misconceptions and gaps.

The second subject reviewed the PRC’s experience in adopting standard documents of FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations) and presented the advantages for various parties involved in international trade. CFCFA Vice Chairman Lin Zhong urged other CAREC countries to do the same and offered assistance in initiating similar efforts in their countries.
