CAREC Program calls for nominations for Gender Climate Awards 2024

The Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program is calling for nominations for the CAREC Gender Climate Awards 2024, to recognize individuals and organizations who are making significant contributions to gender equality in the context of climate change resilience, adaptation and mitigation.

The Gender Climate Awards is the second installment of the awarding scheme by CAREC in gender, formerly the CAREC Award for Advancing Gender Equality.

Nominees should be resident nationals of a CAREC member country or organizations operating in at least one of the listed CAREC countries, with demonstrated commitment and active role in promoting gender equality in the context of climate change resilience, adaptation and mitigation through professional and/or voluntary work.

Nominations are open until 15 August. Winners will be recognized in an award ceremony at the CAREC Women’s Business Forum in Kazakhstan in November. They will also have exclusive membership to the CAREC Women Empowerment Online Platform (WEOP) for networking and showcasing opportunities, international media exposure, invitation to other CAREC high-profile events, regional workshops, leadership coaching and mentorship programs, when appropriate.

Last year, the award ceremony was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, recognizing 11 gender champions from CAREC member countries.

Interested applicants may visit the event page of CAREC to know more information and to submit a nomination.

The CAREC Program is a partnership of countries and development partners working together to promote sustainable development, accelerate economic growth, and reduce poverty. The Asian Development Bank hosts the CAREC Secretariat.
