CAREC Members, ADB Advance Preparations for the 25th Ministerial Conference

On 27 August, during online CAREC National Focal Points’ Meeting, co-chaired by Central and West Asia Regional Department Director General Leah Gutierrez, East Asia Regional Department Director General Ehsan Khan, and Director General Dugersuren Davaadash of Mongolia’s Ministry of Economy and Development, CAREC National Focal Points came together to discuss preparations for the 25th CAREC Ministerial Conference (MC) under the theme “25 Years of Partnership, Shaping the Future Together.” 

Asian Development Bank presented the key deliverables planned for 2026, including the establishment of the Capital Markets Development Forum, the Border Upgrades for Integration, Logistics, and Development Facility, and the proposed CAREC Chambers Alliance.  

The discussion also covered progress on key CAREC initiatives, including the CAREC Trade and Investment Facilitation Partnership and the CAREC Digital Corridor, as well as support for the region through the Pan-Asia Power Grid Initiative and the Critical Minerals to Manufacturing Financing Partnership Facility. The meeting reaffirmed member countries’ commitment to ensuring a successful and project-focused MC in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia).
