CAREC Countries Review Progress on Caspian Green Energy Corridor Project

On 12 May 2026 on the sidelines of Energy Week in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) organized a Working Group meeting for the Caspian Green Energy Corridor Project. This event was aimed to review the progress on the project’s ongoing feasibility study and brought together senior energy officials from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
The Country Director of ADB’s Resident Mission in Uzbekistan Kanokpan Lao-Araya highlighted the importance of regional cooperation in advancing the energy transition and strengthening regional connectivity, energy security, and access to the new markets.
The experts presented the updates on the feasibility study, including the completion of the inception report, progress in demand and load forecasting through 2060, and the development of scenarios for electricity exports and regional energy exchanges.
High-level officials from CAREC member countries welcomed the progress achieved to date and emphasized the need for continued coordination to ensure alignment with national priorities.
