ADB supports CAREC green skills planning in Turkmenistan

On 15 May 2026 in Ashgabat, the Asian Development Bank, in partnership with the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, organized the first Inter-Agency Working Group technical workshop. The event was initiated under the CAREC Program and aimed to support the integration of green skills and just transition principles into the country’s education and workforce development systems.  

The workshop gathered representatives from the government agencies, industry, and education institutions to validate national findings, strengthen technical capacity, and identify practical measures to better align technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and higher education systems with climate priorities and evolving labor market demands.  

This activity is a part of ADB’s regional technical assistance supporting CAREC countries in developing inclusive, climate-responsive, and future-ready skills systems for a transition toward low-carbon and sustainable economies.
