ADB leads discussions on glaciers, transboundary water cooperation in Central Asia
ADB Climate Envoy Warren Evans led discussions on identifying climate adaptive transboundary water projects in Central Asia and defining the outline of ADB’s multicountry glaciers to farm (G2F) initiative. Discussions, a joint effort of CCSD, CWRD, and SG-AFNR, were held at the CAREC Water Pillar working group’s first meeting, with the theme ‘Climate Change, Water and Food Security in Central Asia’ held on 17–18 June in Istanbul, Türkiye. The Green Climate Fund, together with the German Agency for International Cooperation, International Fund for Agricultural Development, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, and other development partners participated in the meeting that helped outline the G2F initiative and identify priority transboundary water projects for potential ADB investments.
