ADB convenes CSPPF China Outreach and Business Engagement event in Shanghai

On 25 May 2026, Asian Development Bank (ADB), the CAREC Institute and the Shanghai National Accounting Institute, co-hosted the CAREC Climate and Sustainability Project Preparatory Fund (CSPPF) China Outreach and Business Engagement event in Shanghai. This meeting brought together senior business leaders from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to spotlight CAREC investment opportunities and ADB procurement procedures. 

This event is aimed at reinforcing ADB’s strong focus on building a robust pipeline of well-prepared, bankable regional projects under the CSPPF to help CAREC member countries advance climate and sustainability priorities. It also highlighted the PRC’s role as a founding CSPPF financing partner. 

In his remarks, Asad Aleem, Regional Head at ADB’s Central and West Asia Department and CSPPF Fund Manager, noted 25th anniversary of the CAREC Programme and reaffirmed ADB’s priority of fostering regional cooperation with concrete investment projects.
