ADB convenes CAREC CSPPF Korea Outreach and Business Engagement Event in Seoul
On 9 July 2026, in Seoul, Republic of Korea (ROK), the Asian Development Bank convened the CAREC Climate and Sustainability Project Preparatory Fund (CSPPF) Korea Outreach and Business Engagement Event, with support from the Korea Development Institute’s Global Knowledge Exchange and Development Center. This event brought together over 80 participants from over 40 Korean companies, public institutions, and research organizations.
ADB presented CAREC investment opportunities, sector pipelines, and procurement procedures. The Korean companies and institutions shared their business experience and project cases in transport, energy, smart agriculture, and water management across CAREC member states.
The event underscored the Korean’s important role as a founding CSPPF financing partner and ADB’s commitment to strengthening private sector engagement in the preparation and implementation of high-quality regional projects.
In his opening remarks, Asad Aleem, Regional Head of the Central and West Regional Cooperation Unit and Manager of the CAREC Climate and Sustainability Project Preparatory Fund, highlighted CAREC’s 25th anniversary and emphasized that stronger cooperation with ROK in ADB projects under CAREC. Also, he stressed that these initiatives could generate mutually beneficial outcomes for CAREC member countries, ADB, and ROK.
