ADB President Participates in 12th CAREC Ministerial Conference
Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Takehiko Nakao gave a keynote address on the theme “Integrated Transport and Trade” at the 12th CAREC Ministerial Conference in Astana.
Kazakhstan Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov opened the meeting, chaired by Economy and Budget Planning Minister and ADB Governor Erbolat Dossaev.
The meeting endorsed refined sector strategies and the physical establishment of CAREC Institute.
President Nakao earlier met with Prime Minister Akhmetov to expressed appreciation to the government for hosting the 47th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors.
He was accompanied by ADB Central and West Asia Department Director General Klaus Gerhaeusser.
The 47th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors will be held on 2-5 May 2014 at the Palace of Independence in Astana.
Kazakhstan hosted the CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting and 12th CAREC Ministerial Conference on 23-24 October 2013.
