RESET Capacity Building Workshop: Market Models and Their Supporting Information Systems
Conducted under Pillar 2 of the CAREC Energy Action Plan (regional dispatch and regulatory development), the workshop focused on international experience in the operation of advanced competitive power markets.
RESET experts used examples from the PJM (Pennsylvania-Jersey-Maryland), New England, and New York power markets in the United States; and the wholesale power market of the Russian Federation. They also identified which best practices can be used to develop regional and national power markets in Central Asia.
CAREC energy sector focal points and officials from energy ministries or agencies working on Energy Sector Coordinating Committee matters also learned how to implement information systems and communications between the system operators and power market operators and participants.
