CAREC Training Workshop on Modernization of Customs Management
This CAREC training covered a set of key subjects related to modernization of customs management, including
- customs for the 21st century,
- customs information system and e-port development,
- risk management,
- special customs zone management, and
- customs compliance facilitation.
The training combined classroom lectures, case studies, and on-site learning. It also provided opportunities for cross-country experience sharing on these subjects.
Senior and mid-level officials from customs agencies of eight CAREC countries — namely Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan — participated in the training workshop.
The Asian Development Bank and the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, through the Shanghai Customs College, cosponsored this training.
