CAREC 2020 National Workshop: Azerbaijan

The Ministry of Economic Development (MED) of Azerbaijan organized a workshop on CAREC 2020. Chaired by CAREC National Focal Point of the Republic of Azerbaijan and MED’s Head of Administration Mr. Samir Veliyev, the workshop was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Industry and Energy, State Customs Committee, and various MED departments, as well as ADB Resident Representative in Azerbaijan Mr. Olly Norojono.

Participants were briefed on key development directions of the CAREC 2020 strategic framework and on its objectives. Government representatives involved in CAREC reported on complete and ongoing projects, as well as planned activities to implement CAREC 2020.

Mr. Norojono delivered the closing remarks and Mr. Veliyev reiterated the importance of close collaboration of all stakeholders for a successful implementation of CAREC 2020.
