Improving the System of Customs Administration in the Republic of Uzbekistan

One of the project’s objectives is to facilitate introduction of effective methods and instruments into customs administration through policy advice, pilot project, institutional and human capacity building.

The technical assistance helps the Uzbekistan government prepare a transport sector strategy that will have guiding policies and investment in the transport sector (2006-2020).

Capacity Building and Strengthening Foreign Trade and Investment Promotion Institutions in Uzbekistan (Phase 1)

The Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade and UNDP have been promoting investment in Uzbekistan through their joint project. The project has produced the Investment Guide to Uzbekistan which is complemented by the Catalogue of Investment Opportunities in Uzbekistan and the Cost of Doing Business in Uzbekistan.

Railways Development Project

The objective of the technical assistance (TA) is to prepare a project that helps the Government of Uzbekistan improve sector efficiency to meet the transportation needs of the domestic economy and international traffic.

Preparing the Regional Gas Transmission Improvement Project in the Central Asia Republics

The TA was to formulate a regional project suitable for ADB financing to improve the gas transmission network in the Central Asia Republics (CARs) to facilitate access to modern energy by the rural poor, regional major cities, and commercial centers.

Regional Cooperation in Transport Projects in Central Asia

The technical assistance (TA) supports the CAREC program in transport by assessing two key regional cooperation projects involving the People’s Republic of China (PRC), the Kyrgyz Republic, and Uzbekistan.
