Regional Road Development Project, Supplementary

The supplementary loan and grant for the project covers financing cost overruns related to the construction of the remaining 62 kilometers (km) of the two-lane road section of about 430 km from Choyr to the border near Zamyn–Uud.

Regional Transport Development Project

The technical assistance final report will prepare a project loan for the second phase of the Western Regional Road Project, including the specific components to be financed by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Mongolia.

Enhancing Border Trade Services and Rules for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs)

The purpose of the technical assistance (TA) was to address constraints and to recommend strategies for improving trade efficiency and promoting trade activities conducted by SMEs at key border crossing points along the People’s Republic of China (PRC)-Viet Nam and the PRC-Mongolia borders.

Road Database Development Using Geographic Information System

The technical assistance will upgrade the existing road database by applying a geographic information system (GIS).

Building Energy Efficiency Project

The project will contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through the transformation of the Mongolian buildings market towards more energy-efficient building technologies and services, sustainable private house insulation and energy efficiency financing mechanisms.

Regional Logistics Development Project

A strategy for developing multimodal transport and a project design for developing a multimodal transport facility at Zamyn Uud suitable for financing are agreed to by the Government of Mongolia and Asian Development Bank.

Community-Based Local Road Upgrading and Maintenance in the Western Region of Mongolia

The project will improve about 33.5 kilometers in 10 locations of local-access and soum-center roads; and establish a community-based system for rural-access and soum-center road maintenance.

Western Regional Road Corridor Development Project, Phase 1

The Western Regional Road Corridor will span nearly 750 kilometers and become part of the Asian Highway Network. The first phase of the project will improve the Yarant–Hovd city road, create road maintenance units, improve road safety, and provide skills training.

Capacity Development for Regional Cooperation in the People’s Republic of China and Mongolia

The intended impact of the regional technical assistance is to strengthen the institutional and human capacity for regional cooperation of the governments of the People’s Republic of China and Mongolia.

Customs Modernization Project

The project will increase the volume of trade and facilitate the smooth flow of external trade of Mongolia by improving efficiency, transparency, and sustainability in customs services and administration.

Development of Regional Cooperation Programs for Mongolia and the People’s Republic of China

The technical assistance (TA), designed in response to the request by the Governments of Mongolia and the People's Republic of China, focused on supporting cooperation between Mongolia and the PRC’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (IMAR) and northeastern provinces.

Mitigation of Transboundary Air Pollution from Coal-Fired Power Plants in Northeast Asia

During the 10th North-East Asian Subregional Programme for Environmental Cooperation (NEASPEC) Senior Officials Meeting held in Japan in November 2004, subregional partners requested ADB’s support for mitigation of transboundary air pollution from coal-fired power plants, through a regional technical assistance (TA) project.

Preparing the Regional Infrastructure (Roads) Project

The technical Assistance will assess feasibility of rehabilitation and upgrading of Road A380 Guzar-Bukhara-Nukus-Beyneu in Uzbekistan.

Preparing the Western Regional Road Development Project

MONGOLIA: Formulating a Transport Strategy (2005–2015)

The technical assistance aims to improve transport performance to facilitate sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction in Mongolia by helping the government formulate a transport strategy for 2005-2015.

Regional Road Development Project

The project will increase the efficiency and safety of domestic and international transit traffic between the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation through Mongolia’s north–south road transport corridor.

Road Development Project III

The technical assistance conducts a comprehensive study of the feasibility of constructing a paved road of about 430 kilometers from the Mongolian town of Choir to the border of the People's Republic of China.

Capacity Building for Developing Member Countries on the WTO Trading System

The main objective of the technical assistance is to support developing member countries (DMCs) to fully integrate into the World trade Organization (WTO) multilateral trading system through (i) increasing their awareness of WTO agreements so that they can be fully implemented; (ii) assisting them to participate fully in the new WTO round; and (iii) assisting DMCs, including Pacific DMCs, to accede to WTO.
