People’s Republic of China: Inner Mongolia Sustainable Cross-Border Development Investment Program (Tranche 1)
Enhancing Border Trade Services and Rules for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) The purpose of the technical assistance (TA) was to address constraints and to recommend strategies for improving trade efficiency and promoting trade activities conducted by SMEs at key border crossing points along the People’s Republic of China (PRC)-Viet Nam and the PRC-Mongolia borders.
Inner Mongolia Road Development Project The main objective of the technical assistance is to support the Inner Mongolia Road Development Project by assisting the executing agency to ensure that the project would be suitable for Asian Development Bank financing.
Xinjiang Urban Transport and Environmental Improvement Project The project will improve urban road infrastructure, traffic management, and environmental sanitation in the cities of Altay, Changji, Hami, Kuytun, and Turpan.
Xinjiang Municipal Infrastructure and Environmental Improvement Project The project will contribute to sustained socioeconomic growth and improved living standards in Altay Administrative District, Boertala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, and Yili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture—border areas of northern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Capacity Development for Regional Cooperation in the People’s Republic of China and Mongolia The intended impact of the regional technical assistance is to strengthen the institutional and human capacity for regional cooperation of the governments of the People’s Republic of China and Mongolia.
Silk Road Ecosystem Restoration Project The technical assistance (TA) will help the Government of the People's Republic of China (PRC) in preparing an investment proposal for improving the environment of degraded or at-risk ecological areas along the Silk Road route in Gansu and Shaanxi Provinces and in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Xinjiang Regional Road Improvement Project (Korla–Kuqa Section) The project will improve the east-west road transport corridor by upgrading the Korla-Kuqa section of the national highway as well as the local road network and road connection to neighboring countries.
Cross-Border Agreement among the Kyrgyz Republic, People’s Republic of China, and Tajikistan The technical assistance (TA) helped prepare a cross border agreement (CBA) between the PRC, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Tajikistan to facilitate smooth regional trade and traffic.
Xinjiang Urban Transport and Environmental Improvement The technical assistance helped prepare the Xinjiang Urban Transport and Environmental Improvement Project, which will cover five cities - Altay, Changji, Hami, Kuitun, and Tulufan.
Development of Regional Cooperation Programs for Mongolia and the People’s Republic of China The technical assistance (TA), designed in response to the request by the Governments of Mongolia and the People's Republic of China, focused on supporting cooperation between Mongolia and the PRC’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (IMAR) and northeastern provinces.
Mitigation of Transboundary Air Pollution from Coal-Fired Power Plants in Northeast Asia During the 10th North-East Asian Subregional Programme for Environmental Cooperation (NEASPEC) Senior Officials Meeting held in Japan in November 2004, subregional partners requested ADB’s support for mitigation of transboundary air pollution from coal-fired power plants, through a regional technical assistance (TA) project.
Logistics Development and Capacity Building in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region The technical assistance (TA) was designed at the request of the Government of the People’s Republic of China to support the development of the logistics industry in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR), and more broadly, expansion of trade with Central Asia republics.
Xinjiang Regional Road Improvement Project The technical assistance assists the executing agency prepare this project in upgrading the Korle-Kuche section to a 4-lane expressway, and review road issues and provide the basis for strengthening the ongoing policy dialogue with the government.
Inner Mongolia Highway and Trade Corridor Project The main objective of the (People's Republic of) China (PRC)–Inner Mongolia Highway and Trade Corridor Project is to sustain and promote the development of cross-border trade between PRC, Russia, and Mongolia by improving transport infrastructure and logistics.
