Road Network Development Project I (Bala Murghab to Leman)

Summary

The project will build the 143 kilometer section from Bala Murghab to Leman. The new all-weather road will link northern Afghanistan with the country's western region. It will help cut travel times and transport costs.

Expected Outcome

The project will contribute to the growth of Afghanistan's domestic and international trade due to higher levels of mobility and supply of intercity, inter-provincial, and international transport services; increased levels of service on critical road sections; and increased service life of the regional road network.

Expected Outputs

• Construction of part of the last missing link of the regional Ring Road.
• Emergency and ancillary works on Andkhoy–Qaisar road completed.
