Summary
The project will increase generation capacity in Gereshk, an economic center in Helmand province, by upgrading a hydropower plant. It will replace 10 kilometers of 3.3 kilovolt (kV) distribution lines with 20 kV lines, and install new end-user meters. The project will also enhance operations of the power utility, DABS.
Expected Outcome
The project will increase hydropower generation capacity in Gereshk.
Expected Outputs
- Gereshk power supply system rehabilitated and improved.
- End-user connections increased with improved distribution facilities.
- Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) operational capacity increased.
