Capacity Building on Selected WTO and Doha Development Agenda Issues

Summary

The technical assistance involves

• a high-level meeting for negotiators of Asian Development Bank's (ADB) developing member countries (DMCs) on key World Trade Organization (WTO) and Doha Round issues,
• intensive training on accession for senior government officials, and
• an intensive course on dispute settlement mechanisms.

Expected Outcome

The technical assistance will promote the full integration of ADB DMCs into the WTO multilateral trading system.

Expected Outputs

• High-level meeting on WTO Key Doha Round issues held in 2005,
• intensive training on accession held in 2006, and
• intensive course on dispute settlement mechanisms conducted in 2006.
