Eighth CAREC Ministerial Conference

Ministers endorsed two plans to advance regional cooperation in the energy, transport, and trade sectors: the Energy Action Plan Framework and the CAREC Program Results Framework.

CAREC Energy Sector Coordinating Committee Meeting (September 2009)

The Energy Sector Coordinating Committee worked on an action plan to implement the Regional Energy Strategy, focusing initially on electricity and water linkages in Central Asia and export opportunities to Asia.

CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting (May 2009)

The meeting reviewed progress on implementation of the CAREC sector strategies and work plans, the program's private sector development initiative, and the CAREC Institute work plan.

Seventh CAREC Ministerial Conference

The 7th CAREC Ministerial Conference marked a turning point in the CAREC Program. With the endorsement of key strategic documents, the Program is now entering the implementation phase.

CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting (September 2008)

The meeting reviewed and discussed drafts of key documents for consideration by the 7th Ministerial Conference on CAREC in November 2008: the Implementation Action Plan for the CAREC Transport and Trade Facilitation Strategy, the CAREC Trade Policy Strategic Action Plan, and the Strategy for Regional Cooperation in the Energy Sector of the CAREC Countries.

CAREC Electricity Regulators Forum’s Fourth Annual Meeting

The meeting consisted of a 2-day annual plenary session and a 3-day training workshop on public-private partnerships and regulators response to renewable energy and energy efficiency programs, and tariff-setting principles and practices.

CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting (April 2008)

The meeting focused on developments in the transport and trade facilitation sectors and preparation of an Implementation Action Plan for the Transport and Trade Facilitation Strategy.

CAREC Energy Sector Coordinating Committee Meeting (April 2008)

Delegates from all eight CAREC countries and representatives from the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, and the World Bank met to discuss matters related to their revised CAREC Energy Sector Strategy.

Sixth CAREC Ministerial Conference

Ministers from the eight countries participating in the CAREC Program adopted a Joint Ministerial Statement that highlights accomplishments of the CAREC Program in recent years and outlines a vision for the program to 2018.
