Energy Supply Improvement Investment Program, Tranche 1

The subprojects proposed for financing are: (i) 500-kilovolt (kV) transmission line from Sheberghan to Dashte Alwan, (ii) 220-kV transmission line from Andkhoy to Sheberghan, (iii) project preparation facility for future energy projects and provision of analytical consulting services, and (iv) program supervision and implementation consultancy.

CAREC Regional Improving Border Services Project

The proposed project will (i) improve border crossing point infrastructure and facility at Torkham, Chaman, and Wagha to the standard that meets users' demand for quality border crossing services; and (ii) establish a border point management regime and enhance knowledge and skills of border point operating agencies.

Regional Upgrades of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures for Trade Project

The project supports the improvement of Sanitary and Phytosanitary measures (SPS) in Mongolia in compliance with the World Trade Organization Agreement on the Application of SPS measures. The improvement in the SPS system is an essential prerequisite for Mongolia to increase agriculture and food trade and diversify its economy.

National Motorway M-4 Gojra–Shorkot Section Project

The proposed project will construct a 62-kilometer (km) four-lane, access-controlled motorway connecting Gojra and Shorkot in Punjab Province.

Third CAREC Corridor Road Investment Program

The Government of Uzbekistan requested for a technical assistance (TA) to carry out due diligence and prepare a comprehensive design of the multitranche financing facility (MFF) - the Third CAREC Corridor Road Investment Program.

CAREC Corridors 2, 5, and 6 (Dushanbe–Kurgonteppa) Road Project

The project will improve road safety through provision of funding for safe urban areas, and will strengthen road asset management through the provision of a road asset management system for the Ministry of Transport.

CAREC: Investment Forum

The proposed regional small-scale policy and advisory technical assistance (TA) seeks to increase foreign investors' awareness of opportunities in both mining and non-mining sectors of member economies of the CAREC program, and Mongolia, in particular.

CAREC Corridor Development Investment Program

The technical assistance will design a multitranche financing facility to assist the government in improving the CAREC corridors to serve the needs of surrounding countries to be interconnected through Pakistan

Preparing MFF Power Distribution Enhancement Investment Program

The proposed Power Distribution Enhancement Investment Program aims to improve efficiency of the power distribution subsector in Azerbaijan through rehabilitation and expansion of an aged power distribution network.

CAREC Corridors 1 and 6 Connector Road (Aktobe–Makat) Improvement Project

The proposed project will reconstruct about 300 kilometers road section between the capitals and administration centers of Aktobe and Artyrau Provinces in western Kazakhstan.

CAREC Corridors 1 and 3 Connector Road Project

The technical assistance will identify, formulate, and prepare an ensuing loan and/or grant for the CAREC Corridors 1 and 3 Connector Road.

Regional Road Development and Maintenance Project

The technical assistance is required to help the Government of Mongolia design the Regional Road Development and Maintenance Project suitable for financing.

Building Trade Policy Capacity: Formulating an International Trade Policy

The Mongolia Interim Country Partnership Strategy emphasizes the importance of employment creation, support for agribusiness and small and medium-sized enterprises or SMEs.

Enhancing Road Safety for CAREC Member Countries

The TA will strengthen the capacity of CAREC governments to identify and address key road safety issues in their respective countries.

Transport Network Development Investment Program, Tranche 4

Tranche 4 will reconstruct the remaining 108-kilometer gap from Beharak to Eshkashim in the northeastern corridor, which starts at city of Kunduz and connects to the border-crossing point with Tajikistan at Eshkashim.

CAREC: Knowledge Sharing and Services in Transport and Transport Facilitation

The technical assistance acts as a vehicle for generation, management and dissemination of knowledge aimed at strengthening the implementation of the CAREC Transport and Trade Facilitation Strategy 2020.

Supporting Industrial Park Development in the CAREC Region

This technical assistance aims to improve the policy framework for planning, developing, and upgrading industrial parks in CAREC countries, and thereby increase the region's industrial productivity and competitiveness.

CAREC Transport Corridor 1 (Bishkek–Torugart Road) Project 3, Additional Financing

The additional financing is for a project that is improving the last 60 kilometers of this transport corridor. The project will contribute to fostering regional trade between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China, and higher mobility for people in Naryn Province.

Toktogul Rehabilitation Phase 2 Project

The project will help upgrade the Kyrgyz Republic's largest power plant, Toktogul, which produces 40% of the country's electricity supply and regulates power frequency for Central Asia.

National Trade Corridor Highway Investment Program, Tranche 3

The program is helping Pakistan improve highways along its national trade corridor, which handles the bulk of the country's freight movements and provides a gateway to Afghanistan and Central Asia. Tranche 3 funds a 19-kilometer expressway between Sarai Saleh and Havelian in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
