CAREC Corridor 2 Road Investment Program, Tranche 3 Tranche 3 of the program will finance the rehabilitation of about 40 kilometers of the A380 highway, which is the Uzbekistan section of CAREC Corridor 2. It will also cover improvements to facilities at Daut–Ata Border Crossing Point and community development.
CAREC Corridor 6 (Marakand–Karshi) Railway Electrification Project The project will increase regional trade opportunities and accelerate the economic growth of Uzbekistan through improved railway operations between Marakand and Karshi.
Second CAREC Corridor 2 Road Investment Program 2, Tranche 1 The first tranche of the program will rehabilitate a 74-kilometer section of a highway running through the Fergana Valley, where a third of all Uzbeks live and a large proportion of the country's agricultural goods are produced. It will also improve road safety and asset management.
Railway Electrification Investment Program The technical assistance will fine tune the feasibility study prepared by Uzbekistan Temir Yullari (UTY), aided by a consortium of Japan and national consultants, and undertake due diligence for the project for electrification of the existing railway line from Marakand to Karshi.
Capacity Development for Radioactive Waste Management and Early Warning System in Ferghana Valley The project is aimed at capacity development of education institution on radiation safety and radiologists of the Ferghana Valley for better understanding of radioactive waste management.
CAREC Corridor 2 Road Investment Program, Tranche 2 Tranche 2 of the program will finance the rehabilitation of about 85 kilometers of the A380 highway, which forms part of the CAREC Corridor 2. It will also improve road planning.
Talimarjan Transmission Project The objective of the Talimarjan Transmission Project for Uzbekistan is to improve the reliability of the electricity supply to residential and business consumers in South–Western Uzbekistan.
CAREC Corridor 2 Road Investment Program 2 The technical assistance is necessary to complete the due diligence in safeguards, economic and financial, and poverty and social areas for the proposed multi-tranche financing facility (MFF).
Strengthening Disaster Risk Management Capacities The project works to strengthen Uzbekistan’s capacity to prepare for and respond to natural and human-induced disasters, in collaboration with the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Energy Efficiency Facility for Industrial Enterprises The objective of the project is to improve energy efficiency in Industrial Enterprises (IEs) by designing and establishing a financing mechanism for energy saving investments.
Reconstruction and Upgrade of Road in Surkhandarya Region (M39) Project The project aims to reconstruct and modernize 100 kilometers of the M39 Almaty–Bishkek–Tashkent–Termez highway going through Baisun, Sherabad, Mirzaabad, Angora, and Termez districts of Surkhandarya region.
CAREC Corridor 2 Road Investment Program, Tranche 1 The project will rehabilitate about 50 kilometers of the A380 highway, and provide training support for improved planning, project management, road asset management, and community facilities.
Talimarjan Power Project (formerly CASAREM–Talimarjan Energy Development Project) Located 440 kilometers southwest of Tashkent, the new facility will increase energy efficiency and save energy through clean power generation. The project will also help increase regional connectivity, and improve power sector management and customer service.
Support to Foreign Trade and Investment Promotion in Uzbekistan, Phase 2 The project focuses on the regional and industry diversification of exports and foreign investments in Uzbekistan.
CAREC Corridor 2 Road Investment Program The main focus of the technical assistance and its ensuing investment project is to enhance the road network and improve national and subregional connectivity.
CASAREM-Talimarjan Power Generation and Transmission Project The original aim of the technical assistance (TA) was to prepare the Talimarjan Power Project for Asian Development Bank financing. The TA scope was expanded to include assistance to the EA in procuring the main power plant contract. The TA scope was expanded to include assistance to the executing agency in procuring the main power plant contract.
500 Kv Transmission Line Sukhan – Guzar and Substations The project will construct a 500 kV overhead transmission line between Guzar and Surkhan substations.
CAREC Regional Road Project The project will improve 131 kilometers of the A-380 highway, a 1,204 kilometer road that runs from the Kazakh border in Uzbekistan's north toward Afghanistan and Turkmenistan in the south. It will also help strengthen government’s operation and maintenance of the road network.
Capacity Building for Clean Development Mechanism Taking into account the potential of Uzbekistan’s provinces in implementation of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects as well as incentives of regional partners in further training, the project has planned to conduct a series of training workshops in Fergana valley, Bukhara, and Nukus.
