Workshop on Risk Management and Customs Intelligence The workshop was the first of the series of in-country training workshop on risk management sponsored by ADB and was a part of its ongoing support for the regional customs cooperation program for East and Central Asia.
Third CAREC Ministerial Conference High-level government delegations representing the CAREC member countries—Azerbaijan, the People's Republic of China, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan—attended the conference.
Forum on Public-Private Partnership on Customs Modernization The forum was co-sponsored by the Bureau of Customs, Philippines, and was part of ADB's ongoing support for the Regional Trade Facilitation and Customs Cooperation Program for East and Central Asia.
CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting (September 2004) Participants (i) discussed the progress made since the Second Ministerial Conference on CAREC held in November 2003 in Tashkent; (ii) reported on the sector outcomes in each of the priority areas of energy, trade facilitation, trade policy, and transport; (iii) made recommendations on certain issues for ministerial consideration and guidance; and (iv) discussed preparations for the Third Ministerial Conference.
First CAREC Trade Policy Sector Coordinating Committee The first meeting of the Trade Policy Coordinating Committee was held in advance of the Senior Officials' Meeting in September.
Conference on Customs Reforms and Modernization The conference achieved two objectives: exchanging views and sharing country experiences in the outgoing customs reforms and modernization; and contributing to the agreement on the scope, technology requirement, and financing plan for the data-sharing arrangement launched in the Customs Cooperation Committee meeting in Issyk-kul in August 2003.
CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting (April 2004) Participants discussed (i) the progress made since the Second Ministerial Conference on CAREC in each of the priority areas of energy, trade facilitation, and transport; (ii) ways of strengthening the overall institutional framework, including the establishment of a sector coordinating committee for trade policy; and (iii) preparations for the Third Ministerial Conference on CAREC scheduled in the fourth quarter of this year.
CAREC Customs Cooperation Committee Regional Meeting on Development of Simplified Transit Systems This meeting was part of ADB's ongoing support for the implementation of the 7-point Common Action Plan endorsed in August 2002 by the Customs Cooperation Committee.
Second CAREC Ministerial Conference Under the established Overall Institutional Framework (OIF), this high-level conference reviewed the progress in regional cooperation activities since the First Ministerial Conference on CAREC held on March 2002. It also sought to provide guidance and direction to the OIF and its future activities.
Second CAREC Customs Cooperation Committee Meeting The meeting reviewed progress of the committee's common action plan and identified and recommended future action for customs cooperation in the region.
