Capacity Development for Regional Cooperation in CAREC Participating Countries (Phase I)

Summary

The broad objective of the capacity development program for CAREC is to strengthen the effectiveness and momentum of regional cooperation and integration.

Expected Outcome

The expected outcomes are (i) senior and mid-level government officials in CAREC countries skilled in identifying, planning, and implementing mutually beneficial regional initiatives, and (ii) deepened understanding among these officials of the importance of regional cooperation and the costs of non-cooperation.

Expected Outputs

The expected outputs are (i) capacities developed through training; (ii) research on regional and integration issues through a small grants program; and (iii) a detailed work program and budget proposal for the establishment of the CAREC Institute.
