Road Network Development Investment Program, Tranche 2 The program’s second tranche will rehabilitate 90 kilometers of the Qaisar–Bala Murghab section of the Herat–Andkhoy road and construct approximately 143 kilometers of the Bala Murghab–Laman section. The project will also improve communities' access to social services and basic infrastructure.
Power Sector Rehabilitation Project The project preparatory technical assistance, in preparation for the ensuing Power Sector Rehabilitation Project, will undertake necessary due diligence and assist pre-implementation activities.
Regional Logistics Development Project The project will establish a multimodal transport system and equip the new terminal with modern customs and quarantine facilities. The management of the logistics facility will be contracted out to a private operator.
Regional Power Transmission Interconnection Project (Afghanistan Component) – Supplementary The project will enhance transmission interconnectivity in the power sector between Afghanistan and Tajikistan. It will increase power export and income generation capacity of Tajikistan, and restore power supply and reduce costs for consumers in Afghanistan.
Alma Electricity Transmission Project The project will improve the reliability and quality of electricity supply to consumers in the Almaty region in an environmentally responsible and financially sustainable manner. This will be achieved by expanding the capacity of Almaty's transmission network to provide additional capacity and redundancy in the system for uninterrupted supply of electricity.
CAREC Corridor 1 (Zhambyl Oblast Section), Tranche 3 The third project will improve 118 kilometers of the highway in Zhambyl Oblast. This will be part of the CAREC Transport Corridor 1, running from Khorgos city through Almaty and Shymkent to the Russian Federation's western border.
Power Sector Master Plan The technical assistance (TA) is intended to support the Government of Afghanistan in identifying power sector deficiencies and systematically prioritizing the sector's rehabilitation needs
Development of Regional Cooperation Programs for Mongolia and the People’s Republic of China, Phase 2 This regional policy and advisory technical assistance (TA) is designed to continue ADB's support to the People’s Republic of China (PRC)–Mongolia cooperation, building on the achievements and recommendations from the first phase.
National Road Rehabilitation (Osh–Batken–Isfana), First Additional Financing The additional financing will contribute to the reduction of transport costs and travel time along the Osh–Batken–Isfana Road corridor.
CAREC Corridor 2 (Mangystau Oblast Sections) Investment Program, Tranche 1 The first project of the investment program will reconstruct around 200 kilometers of the road linking Manasha to Beki, and improve bridges, culverts and other infrastructure in Mangystau Oblast (province). It will also strengthen capacity for project and road asset management.
Power Sector Improvement Project (formerly Transmission and Distribution Metering Project) The project will introduce an automated metering and data acquisition system to help cut losses, upgrade substation equipment, and install a supervisory control system. It also includes building the capacity of state-run National Electric Grid of Kyrgyzstan and a study on electricity settlement systems.
CAREC Regional Road Corridor Improvement Project, Supplementary The principal objectives of the project are to reduce transport costs and foster regional cooperation among the People's Republic of China, Tajikistan, and other Central Asian countries. The road will increase regional traffic and trade, and improve access to regional markets and social services for people living along the corridor.
Supporting Integrated Border Management Systems in the South Caucasus The project is designed to support implementation of the integrated border management (IBM) principles in Azerbaijan and along the borders of Azerbaijan with Georgia.
Regional Power Transmission Project The project will include the construction of two new 220-kilovolt transmission lines totaling 140 kilometers, and the rehabilitation of substations. It will support reforms, including restructuring state-owned utility Barki Tojik.
Growing Inclusive Markets (Kazakhstan component) The Growing Inclusive Markets (GIM) initiative is a UNDP-led global multi-stakeholder research and advocacy initiative that seeks to understand, enable and inspire the development of more inclusive business models around the globe that will help to create new opportunities and better lives for many of the world’s poor.
Strengthening Disaster Risk Management Capacities The project works to strengthen Uzbekistan’s capacity to prepare for and respond to natural and human-induced disasters, in collaboration with the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
CAREC: Power Sector Regional Master Plan The technical assistance (TA) intends to identify power sector deficiencies on the regional level and resolve these through focusing on promotion of inter- and intra–regional electricity trade, increasing energy security and energy efficiency, and reducing emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs), by optimizing integrated transmission and generation expansion.
Energy Efficiency Facility for Industrial Enterprises The objective of the project is to improve energy efficiency in Industrial Enterprises (IEs) by designing and establishing a financing mechanism for energy saving investments.
Management and Disposal of Polychlorinated Biphenyl in the Kyrgyz Republic The project will provide the Kyrgyz Republic with the tools to achieve effective compliance with respect to its obligations to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants and the objective of substantively minimizing the environmental and health risks, both local and global.
Reconstruction and Upgrade of Road in Surkhandarya Region (M39) Project The project aims to reconstruct and modernize 100 kilometers of the M39 Almaty–Bishkek–Tashkent–Termez highway going through Baisun, Sherabad, Mirzaabad, Angora, and Termez districts of Surkhandarya region.
