Workshop on National and Regional Joint Transport and Trade Facilitation Committees
The establishment of national joint transport and trade facilitation committees (NJCs) is a key element of the Implementation Action Plan for the Joint Transport and Trade Facilitation Strategy endorsed at the 7th Ministerial Conference on Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) in Baku, Azerbaijan.
NJCs will promote transport development and integrated trade facilitation at the national level through improved interagency collaboration, and enhanced partnership between the public and private sectors.
The workshop brought together representatives from trade, transport, and customs ministries, as well as freight forwarders associations from the CAREC counties to
- exchange experience related to the establishment and strengthening of NJCs, and
- discuss the role and functions of NJCs within the CAREC framework, including the Corridors Performance Measurement and Monitoring program and Single Window development.
