CAREC University Innovation Exchange Program (UIEP)
Welcome to the CAREC University Innovation Exchange Program (UIEP) webpage, where we believe in harnessing the vast potential of the CAREC region for innovation and entrepreneurship. With a rising number of young entrepreneurs and startup ventures emerging from universities, we recognize the need to address the challenges they face in developing their ideas and scaling their ventures.
Overview of the UIEP Innovation Summer Bootcamp
The UIEP Innovation Summer Bootcamp will be a two-week in-person program that involves 4 universities from CAREC countries. Each university will host the bootcamp for 2.5 days. The selected startup teams will participate in workshops, site visits, pitching & mentoring sessions, and networking events. The program will provide certification to participants who complete the program.
The bootcamp will be hosted in English and will cover the following topics:
- Workshop
- Ideation and validation
- Business models and market analysis
- Customer development and user experience
- Legal and financial aspects of starting a venture
- Scaling and growth strategies
- Site visit
- Incubators, Accelerators
- Investors
- Innovation Hubs
- Startups
- Cultural activities, etc.
- Pitching and mentorship
- Pitching to investors and other stakeholders
- Receiving feedback
- Networking reception event
Objectives
The CAREC UIEP Innovation Summer Bootcamp aims to:
- Provide pre-seed startup teams from selected universities with a comprehensive study tour on innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Foster cross-border collaboration and networking among startup teams from different universities and countries in the CAREC region.
- Build a community of young entrepreneurs who can support and learn from each other in their journey to build sustainable ventures.
- Provide selected participants with access to mentors, investors, and other resources to scale their ventures and drive economic growth in the CAREC region.
Expected Outcomes
By the end of the Innovation Summer Bootcamp, we expect to see the following outcomes:
- Participants will have gained knowledge and skills in innovation and entrepreneurship that will enable them to start or scale their ventures.
- Participants will have built cross-border networks with other startup teams and mentors that can support them in their entrepreneurial journey.
- Selected startup teams will have the opportunity to pitch their ventures to investors and access funding to scale their ventures.
- The program will have created a community of young entrepreneurs who can support and learn from each other in their journey to build sustainable ventures.
- The program will have established a sustainable funding model and partnership model for future cohorts.
