Preparing Railway Modernization Projects The Government of Uzbekistan and O'zbekiston Temir Yo'llari (UTY) have requested technical assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to prepare two projects to further modernize railways in Uzbekistan: (i) CAREC Corridor 2 (Pap Namangan Andijan) Railway Electrification Project, Additional Financing, and (ii) CAREC Corridor 2 (Bukhara Miskin Urgench Khiva) Railway Electrification Project.
Preparing Sustainable Energy Projects in Central Asia The regional transaction TA facility will provide project preparation support to a series of ensuing projects in Central Asia: (i) Power Distribution Enhancement, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Projects in the Kyrgyz Republic; and (ii) Power Sector Development Program in the Republic of Tajikistan.

Support to the Advisory Group on Railway Sector Development As part of the Afghanistan National Railway Plan, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan wishes to expedite the construction of the Mazar-i-Sharif to Herat railway line (the MHR), which would connect with the existing Mazar-i-Shari to Hairatan railway line, and the Herat to Senghan line being constructed in phases, to form a continuous transit route between Central Asia and the Middle East/South Asia through Afghanistan.
Preparing the CAREC Corridors 1 and 3 Bishkek Northern Bypass Road Project This road improvement will contribute to regional cooperation through (i) linking the CAREC Corridors 1 and 3; (ii) providing global connectivity to the Bishkek FEZ and Dordoy Bazaar; and (iii) linking ABEC with Bishkek-Osh Road and Bishkek-Torugart Road.
CAREC Corridor 3 (Bishkek–Osh Road) Improvement Project, Phase 4 The proposed transaction technical assistance (TRTA) will assess the condition of the structures likely to be affected by construction of the Bishkek–Kara–Balta section of the project road under the CAREC Corridor 3 (Bishkek–Osh Road) Improvement Project.
