13th CAREC Trade Policy Coordinating Committee Meeting
The trade policy delegates participated in two mini-seminars about the World Trade Organization (WTO); considered the findings of the study on institutional impediments to trade; discussed progress on the implementation of the Trade Policy Strategic Action Plan; and agreed on the work plan through 2011.
Also, the International Monetary Fund made a presentation about the developments and prospects for trade in the aftermath of the 2008-2009 economic crisis.
Based on the outcomes of this TPCC meeting, the chairman from Afghanistan, Mozammil Shinwari, reported the committee’s progress to the CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting on 31 October 2010.
