12th CAREC Trade Policy Coordinating Committee Meeting
The meeting discussed the progress on the committee’s initiatives and approved a work plan for 2010–2011.
Key issues for discussion included (i) monitoring progress on the Trade Policy Strategic Action Plan, (ii) trade-related indicators for the CAREC Program Results Framework, (iii) the draft paper on the Institutional Environment for Trade in CAREC countries, and (iv) a 2-year knowledge sharing program on accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Delegates also participated in two seminars: (i) the People’s Republic of China’s experience with WTO accession, and (ii) recent developments and the current state of the agricultural negotiations in the Doha Development Agenda.
