Revised Kyoto Convention Gap Analysis Workshop

The workshop was part of a regional technical assistance (RETA), funded by the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction.

The RETA aims to assist Uzbekistan Customs in the review and assessment of laws and regulations to comply with Revised Kyoto Convention (RKC) provisions.

Eighteen customs officials from Uzbekistan attended the workshop.

The RKC is an international agreement adopted by the World Customs Organization that serves as the basis for simplifying and harmonizing customs procedures, and for advocating best practice in customs administration.

The adoption and implementation of the RKC by CAREC member countries is expected to increase transparency and efficiency in customs administration, and will contribute to reducing transaction costs and enhancing trade security.
