Seminar on Cooperation among Central Asian National Chambers of Commerce

The CAREC Program has worked with the business community though the Central-South Asia Regional Business Roundtable and the CAREC Business Development Forum. Building on these initiatives, the CAREC Program and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce sponsored the “Seminar on Cooperation among Central Asian National Chambers of Commerce” in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China.

Some 140 representatives of national chambers of commerce, trade associations, regional chambers of commerce, governments, and enterprises from the eight CAREC countries explored ways to deepen cooperation among chambers of commerce. They discussed a range of topics, including the role of the private sector in regional development; approaches to strengthening cooperation among chambers; and options for developing economic, technical, and trade cooperation among enterprises in the region.
