CAREC Federation of Carrier and Forwarder Associations Meeting (August 2015)

CAREC Federation of Carrier and Forwarder Associations (CFCFA) members and partners met to

  • discuss updates on CFCFA activities, including a summary of executive board meetings, organizational decisions, and relevant milestones;
  • update the status of the CFCFA website administration;
  • identify areas in the refined CAREC Transport and Trade Facilitation Strategy 2020 in which the private sector can play an active and significant role, including logistics and trade facilitation policies.

The meeting was also in preparation for the CFCFA’s participation in a dialogue between the private sector and the CAREC Customs Cooperation Committee.

The CAREC Program works with the private sector to facilitate regional trade. Together with the CFCFA, CAREC seeks to improve coordination among transport and trade logistics service providers, their customers, and regulators.

This is a key aspect of implementing the CAREC Transport and Trade Facilitation Strategy and CAREC 2020, which aim to improve the performance and maximize the economic benefits of CAREC corridors by expanding trade and enhancing competitiveness.
