Seminar on Trade Development of Regional Agricultural Products in Central Asia
Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China: 17-18 June 2008
Because of the continuing global food price increases, global and regional trade discussions on agriculture concerns have been renewed. For agriculture-based Central Asian economies, a revitalized agriculture trade between and among neighboring economies will be an important catalyst for economic growth and poverty reduction.
The CAREC Institute, in partnership with the People's Republic of China's Ministry of Commerce, conducted the "Seminar on Trade Development of Regional Agriculture Products in Central Asia" to exchange ideas on best agriculture trade practices, identify trade bottlenecks and constraints, and explore opportunities brought by agriculture trade expansions among the CAREC country-members.
Experts in the trade of regional agricultural products from CAREC-participating countries attended the seminar.
