Central Asia Customs Cooperation Meeting
Manila, Philippines: 30-31 January 2002
The Central Asia Customs Cooperation Meeting was attended by participants from the People's Republic of China (PRC), Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, and from Azerbaijan and Mongolia as observers.
The meeting had a forum for the participating countries to discuss and exchange experiences in customs modernization in the context of regional economic cooperation. In particular, it presented an opportunity to discuss the role of enhanced customs cooperation in achieving improvements in trade facilitation.

The outputs were a summary of discussions that contained recommendations on priority areas for future cooperation among customs, and the establishment of a cooperation mechanism.
