Summary:The project involves
  • reconstruction of approximately 7.7 kilometers (km) of road from category II to category IB with four lanes; and
  • construction of approximately 57.4 km of new category-II bypass road.
Expected Outcome:The project will ensure better connectivity for the Zhambyl Oblast section of CAREC Transport Corridor 1. The 65 km Taraz bypass section is integral to the transport corridor, connecting the oil-rich western part of the country to its southeast and beyond.
Expected Outputs:
  • Reconstructed upgraded 7.7 km road to four lanes; and
  • 57.4 km bypass road constructed.
