Summary:The supplementary loan and grant for the project covers financing cost overruns related to the
  • construction of the remaining 62 kilometers (km) of the two-lane road section of about 430 km from Choyr to the border near Zamyn-Uud;
  • price adjustment for the contracts related to the construction of road sections from 35th Railway Crossing to 18th Khudag, and from 18th Khudag to 62.2 km mile post; and
  • price adjustment for contract related to construction of the access road to Urgun Soum.
The initial project develops 428 km of Mongolia's north–south road transport corridor between Choyr and the border with the People's Republic of China in Zamyn-Uud.
Expected Outcome:The supplementary financing will help finish the project and realize the benefits of establishing a modern highway link between Mongolia's economic centers and its main trading partners.
